It doesn’t matter who you are, you love someone and someone loves you. This is the thought you need to remember when you have that next argument.
I miss our ability to share a space in silence.

Things to know about grieving:
- it is ok to not be ok
- it is ok to be mad
- it is ok to be on a wave of emotion, sometimes you are ok, other times you are bawling
- it is ok to feel how you feel
Things to remember.
I believe I was a pretty good husband to the wonderful woman who raised our daughter, while I went to sea. Still there are so many words I would take back and things I would do differently. You do not know how many days you or the person you love have left. Remember each day could be the last time you get to say I love you.
i’m at a point in my life where everything is falling apart and everything is coming together at the same time.
This is Michelle Jenneke, most of you would probably recognize her from the first GIF above. She’s an Australian Olympic athlete (Hurdler) and won a silver medal for the 100m hurdles at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics.
As you can clearly see, her thighs touch. She has no thigh gap, but do you really think that makes her any less attractive or unfit? She is healthy, obviously skilled in her chosen passion or sport and is extremely happy with her body. Girls seem to idolize this idea of a ‘thigh gap’ , as showing how healthy or how fit you are. This is not always the case.
A thigh gap can occur if you have wide hips, and even then because of your body shape it can sometimes be unattainable. Michelle Jenneke received worldwide media attention for her pre-race warm up hip dancing, and was admired by boys/men of all ages around the globe. (Girls too, sometimes we like looking at nice bodies!)
Whatever your weight-loss/fitness goals may be, if you don’t end up having a thigh gap don’t be discouraged. You are in no way un-healthier than someone else who does have one.
Keep at it and you’re all amazing! xx
Tumblr followers: I apologize for not being active for the last few months. Some of you have become friends, even though we have not met, and all have been a source of inspiration and encouragement. I need that encouragement now.
While I haven’t spent a lot of time talking about it, my entire adult life has been spent working on US Navy planes and going to sea on Aircraft Carriers. I brought my 30 year career in the Navy to a close in March and after three months of job searching, I started a new job. On Sunday, 22 June my wife of 29 years, Kim, was hospitalized for complications with her diabetes. On the following Tuesday night her heart stopped and even though they were able to resuscitate her, she never regained consciousness. She finally passed away on 06 July. Since then I have planned her funeral and returned her to our home state and then had to plan a memorial service for everyone where we have lived for the last 20 years.
The help I seek is in meal management and meal prep for one person. When I return home from work, I don’t have the energy or desire to cook, so I end up eating food I never would have eaten before. I need to prep at least 5 days of lunches and suppers on Saturday or Sunday. I have to eat better and begin to exercise again, even if I can’t run right now.
Additionally, if any of you know of tumblr or other online resources for those experiencing grief, please message me
In an age when our oldest veterans are passing away daily and less than .05 percent of Americans have served since September 11th 2001, some of you may not personally know a veteran.
Today is not about beaches, BBQs, and celebrations, but about service and sacrifice. Memorial Day (or Decoration Day as it was originally known) is set aside to place flowers on the graves of those who have fallen and remember the price that they have paid for our freedom.
